Career Prospects

Employers across New Atlas say vacancies remain open even as younger residents complain of poor prospects. Restaurant owners, delivery firms and late-night businesses report the same frustration: plenty of applicants want a career, fewer seem interested in the work available to them.

Some blame wages. Others point to long hours, rising rents and the cost of getting across the city. Proprietors are less sentimental. Work, they say, has never promised glamour. It merely asks that somebody turn up.

There are jobs out there for those willing to take them. The door’s open, kiddos.
